‘Apocalypse, girl’, the latest album by Norwegian artist Jenny Hval was only released last month but already seems to be a cert to feature in all those end-of-year ‘Best Of..’ lists that we all love. Well, that I love cos I’m a nerd and LISTS! But seriously, it’s an astonishing record, there doesn’t seem to be a review out there that isn’t gushing with praise (including mine).
Hval will spend the next few months touring the United States before coming to the UK for a short tour in November. Be sure to go along if this fascinating artist is in your neck of the woods/post code/hood/manor yadda yadda…

As well as tour dates, Jenny Hval has shared a video for album highlight ‘Sabbath’. You can keep your Taylor Swift videos whose budget would swallow the GDP of a small European country. The video for ‘Sabbath’ was filmed on the mobile phone of collaborator Zia Anger, who says the clip is “best viewed on a cracked screen”. As much as I like Taylor Swift, this video looks more fun than the one for ‘Bad Blood’.
‘Apocalypse, girl’ is out now on Sacred Bones
