Burgettestown, PA- A warm evening after an afternoon rain, a large audience ascended onto The Starlake Pavillion to enjoy an evening of New Wave and Rock ‘n’ Roll! A night of DEVO and BILLY IDOL hit the stage with an enthusiastic roar from the crowd. A special night of memories for everyone at the show. Anyone from the 1980’s knew the names of DEVO and BILLY IDOL. Two of the most well-known musical artists in the last few decades. This is the tour to see this summer! The unique and electric style of each band stands on their own. This night is like seeing two different concerts on the same night, but one does not need to run to different venues to see the shows. DEVO-lution is happening! DEVO is a band who is considered as a new wave music band from the early 1980’s, but wait, DEVO is so much more! During the 1980’s growing up, DEVO seemed more punk than new wave. DEVO took to the stage with a large audience ready to get their groove on with an energetic performance. The video screen imagery matched the new wave rock the band delivers in a unique, spontaneous, and charming way that only DEVO can in a show. The red caps, the bio-hazard jumpsuits, and the fun, charming choreography make this show an exciting experience. Performing their major hits like Whip It, this is a concert that is unforgettable. The sound is great! DEVO is a band with fantastic, talented musicians at its core. The audience responds well to the band. The lighting is cool with blue, red, white, yellow, green, purple, and pink that is placed around the stage and highlights the band good along with their choreography. A wonderful time is had by all in attendance.
After a short break, the time is upon us all to be introduced to the IDOL, BILLY IDOL, who redefines the rock world for decades along with a punk attitude. The audience is larger and people are still entering to partake in seeing the man with the infamous snarl and blonde spiked hair. BILLY IDOL takes to the stage with cheers and yells from an appreciative audience. BILLY IDOL has a guitarist who has been with him for decades, and that is STEVE STEVENS and he is a wonderful guitarist, he is a great musician all on his own as well. BILLY IDOL is a musician and artist who performs for the audience as well as himself. The sound is excellent, the video screen imagery as a backdrop is wonderful, the band is great, the back-up singers are beautiful, and a lovely, enjoyable, and memorable night is had by all in attendance. All-time hit songs are played, and more recent hits as well. Songs include: Flesh of Fantasy, Mony Mony, 77, Dancing With Myself, and Rebel Yell. The lighting is on cue with an arrangement of lights in the colors blue, red, white, purple, orange, yellow, and pink to compliment the music. The music the choreography and of course BILLY IDOL all is excellent. BILLY IDOL has a charisma, charm, and swagger that one cannot help but fall in love. The music is the focus and the performance matches the sexiness of the music. The show is one for the memory books!
