Could we be seeing a venturing direction of classic rock, pioneering from the Texan quartet known as White Denim? Make that choice for yourself, but their new album Coriscana Lemonade echoes a fresh revitalising lift for a once adored genre. From classic guitar riffs to boogying grooves, this album is a phenomenal gift of raw talent. You could put many tags on this band, Indie Rock, Garage Rock or even Psychedelic rock, that’s what makes them so endearing.
‘At Night in Dreams’ has the most intellectual of riffs, whilst the melodic brilliance of ‘Distant Relative Salute’ and the ringing riffs of ‘Come On’ give the album a purr of authenticity. It’s an enticing listen from the very first riff to the very last chord.
White Denim have returned with more power, rawness and grit than before. There are hints of something enormous in this album and we may only have tasted a sample of what’s to come. Top track to give a listen is opening title ‘At Night in Dreams’!
