Jess Gillam is presenting a one-off concert: This Classical Life: Live with the BBC Philharmonic at Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley on Wednesday 25 May
Conducted by Ellie Slorach, members of the BBC Philharmonic and Jess Gillam are joined by special guests including pianist and composer Belle Chen bringing her captivating blend of classical, avant-garde, world, electronica, and sound-art to the stage; and multi-instrumentalist and composer Erland Cooper whose work takes inspiration from the natural world, memory, people and place. Jess will also present This Classical Life: Live at Ally Pally with the BBC CO next month.
Jess Gillam is a saxophonist and has been presenting the award-winning Radio Three show and podcast for three years now. She is playing in lots of performances around the UK and Europe, including with the London Philharmonic, Philharmonia, Munich Philharmonic and the Manchester Camerata. That’s in addition to duos, trios and her own Jess Gillam Ensemble.
