I do like these pieces, currently up in the Reina Sofia, by Louise Lawler, American artist from NYC.
I’m not quite sure about the book one, but at least the other two speak to me of a fairly basic hetero racist dream and ideal, that we are indoctrinated into from birth.
Hmm, it seems there’s a lot more going on in these paintings that meets my simple-minded eye.
