In 2008 J Davey released a sultry, late night disco track called ‘Might As Well’.
A few weeks ago, in 2019, eleven years later, Jaakko Eino Kalevi, put out Dissolution. Its a faster track but it keeps the focus on keeping it cool on the dancefloor. Both tracks are perfect for the London poseurs. Men who don’t want to really dance, women who don’t mind dropping the odd shoulder, but aren’t into moving.
The English singer on Dissolution reminds me a lot of the lead singer of Hot Chip, whose disco works are of the three artists mentioned, probably the most likely to trigger an outbreak of dancing, though not in London. Londoners don’t dance.
