This is what comes to my mind when I listen to Death Set’s new album: How to Tune a Parrot.
Each song on this racy thrash guitar pop album is just waiting to burst out.
The album has a huge amount of snap. Every riff is like a crack of the whip.
It definitely crackles. The guitars are always pushed over the edge, they bubble with reverb, fuzz, and blur.
And its pure pure pop.
And perfectly packaged too. The Kelloggs marketing department would be proud.
How to Tune a Parrot has a great energy, more of a charging up the motorway backing track, rather than a ‘listen to’ – but it resonates with the human need for speed.
