King Nun evoke 2006 with high adrenaline indie rock

At the start of their new album Mass King Nun ply an adrenaline fuelled indie rock, with attitude. The fast pace of the music reminds me of The Killers, the Fratellis, The Strokes and Bloc Party. It feels very 2006. MSTRKRFT, who remixed a lot of indie rock stuff to great effect around 2006, could have had a great time with some of the tracks off this album. There are slower tracks, that together with the Essex-like southern English twang of lead singer Theo Bolyzoides remind me a little of 90s bands like Shed Seven, Kingmaker, Suede, Auteurs and Kinky Machine.

King Nun’s Mass LP comes out on the 4th October and the band are touring in October with The Struts:

Fri 11 Manchester Academy 2
Sat 12 Edinburgh Liquid Room
Sun 13 Sheffield Leadmill
Tue 15 Norwich UEA
Wed 16 London Forum
Thu 17 Cardiff Great Hall
Sat 19 Leicester Academy
Sun 20 Bournemouth Academy
