Little known outside the world of cartoons Jamie Smart is a genius of types. He has a sordid mind, a knack for fast paced fascinating adventure, and has somehow crossed over from adult comics into children’s ones, taking one of his characters Looshkin over the threshold with him. But anyway I digress, partly anyway. The point is Smart also has an extraordinary graphic ability, as most cartoonists do; a way of framing an image or a scenario. This ability comes across strongly in this beautiful video-montage that he recently filmed on a trip to Japan. I can understand that Smart might be a fan of Japanese culture, when I first saw his legendary Bunny v Monkey series it immediately reminded me of Anime cartoonography.
