German-born Artist/Songwriter/ Producer, Gon Von Zola, has released a new single called Blue Is…
The song pays tribute to the 1980’s classic The Goonies as well as The Orphanage and Virginia Wolf.
Zola had a very musical upbringing with a UK band family and a Welsh songwriting sister. Being constantly surrounded by music, it only made sense that he became a very independent, Do It yourself, type of artist.
He made his name by playing in London in a variety of clubs. Now he has been praised by the likes of NME, Time Out, And BBC 6.
Upon first hearing Blue Is, it sounds like a very upbeat track that would be the perfect song to dance to. However, the lyrics have more of a gloomy feel as he sings about ‘Invisible friends’ and ‘Flooded caves’.
The juxtaposition between the dark lyrics and the sound of the upbeat melody, causes the listener to really think about the meaning behind the song.
