There are general elections in Spain in two weeks time.
One of the policies being put forward by the fourth biggest party is to give every 18 year old 20 grand to invest in education, employment and business.
The idea is that this would help produce a level playing field amongst young adults.
Currently, in Spain, as in the UK, the opportunities young people have, depend largely on the purchasing power of their parents (their social class).
The policy has been marketed as a ‘universal inheritance’.
