Slow sardonic countrified blues from Darrin Bradbury

Darrin Bradbury’s new countrified blues album ‘Talking Dogs and Atom Bombs’ offers a slow sardonic take on life and its ills. I was thinking about describing the album as depressing so it was interesting to find out that Bradbury had mentioned the album was about “trying to combat depression, to laugh your way out of depression, and to be honest and accurate with that depression.” Depressing and cynical it may be, but it is also infused with comedic terms, surrealism and sarcasm. You can’t fault the music, its as pleasant and as meandering as country could be. Darrin is touring the UK from November 2019 onwards.
