Exploding back on to the Hip-Hop and R&B scene with his new track “The Fix” is Grammy award winning, multi-platinum selling artist Nelly.
Looking back over Nelly’s substantial career, you are guaranteed to know at least one of his tracks. With an extensive history of hits from way back in the day, such as “Hot in Herre”, “Dilemma” featuring Kelly Rowland, “Work It” featuring Justin Timberlake and more recently “Hey Porsche”, Nelly has always been guaranteed to deliver catchy and popular R&B tracks.
“The Fix” proves no different. Featuring in demand artist Jeremih (think recent collaboration on “Freak of the Week” with Krept and Konan), and produced by the ever popular DJ Mustard and Mike Free, “The Fix” is almost guaranteed to be a smash hit before it even drops.
Instantly, I am pulled right in to this track when you’re hit with DJ Mustard dropping his “Mustard on the beat” tag. Some of my favourite hits of late have featured this, so I am fired up to enjoy what I’m about to hear.
Sampling Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing”, “The Fix” proves to be hella catchy. The track is smooth, seriously dance-able and the hook is guaranteed to annoyingly burrow it’s ways into your head so that you find yourself singing it hours later; a sure sign of a hit record.
Released November 13th, “The Fix” will not only appeal to current Nelly fans like myself, but also create a modern wave of new Nelly appreciation, especially given the undoubted popular radio presence this track will receive.
Nelly’s UK tour kicks off next month in London, and given the caliber of “The Fix”, it would not be a tour to miss.
