I instantly liked Piano Works by Alexander Plastic. The opening track took me into a Yann Tiersen like world, a rhythmic melancholy if you like. The understated name for the album suggests Alexander Plastic is entering the world of published music tentatively, who knows. The piano playing is the kind of stuff you could imagine having made up as a child, there’s a certain innocence and simplicity to it and its certainly repetitive. It’s not Debussy.
