‘How Was Your Day?- Beabadoobee’s atmospheric love song

Beabadoobee’s latest single in the run up to debut album ‘Fake It Flowers’, ‘How Was Your Day?’, is a soothing acoustic love song, further demonstrating Bea’s musical talents that she has previously shown through her numerous EPs such as ‘Space Cadet’ and ‘Patched Up’.

With the overlapping of the vocals and guitar creating a freestyle nature to the song, it feels like as the listener that you are following Bea as she wanders through her thoughts and feelings in her mind over the song’s subject. Naturally it is a quieter piece compared to some of her previous releases and the video for the song reflects this intimacy, as we delve into Beabadoobee’s personal life beyond her music and see behind the scenes of the build up to her creation ‘Fake it Flowers’ (which is set for release on the 15th October). The video also helps to add depth, as it shows us the essence of where this personal song has blossomed from and shows us the person behind the performer, Beabadadoobee, as it strips us back to Bea, similar to the way the song is absent of the usual array of instrumentation used in her music which in turn results in giving us pure emotion.

The title ‘How Was Your Day?’ perfectly reflects the simplicity of the song and innocence of someone simply wondering how someone else they care about is and illustrates the emotion that Beabadoobee brings to her music that she will also undoubtedly convey in her upcoming album, set for release next week.
