Greywind live, Whelans, Dublin 12/12/19

Alt-rock duo Greywind hailing from Killarney, Co. Kerry headline in Dublin venue Whelan's.

Alt-rock duo Greywind hail from Killarney, Co. Kerry. The Siblings have been touring their latest single “Desolate” and drop into Dublin for a headline show ahead of finishing the year in their hometown supporting Irish favorites The Coronas.

After previously supporting the likes of You Me At Six and Thrice it was the Kerry bands turn to take a headline spot in the Irish capitol. With support from Dublin quartet Sprints, Greywind jumped straight into a set full of material from debut album “Afterthoughts” with some new songs dripped in. It was a cold miserable night outside that affected the turn out, however the guys kept the energy high and pace electric.

This band has the songs in abundance and have a sound that would suit bigger stages and packed venues. The presentation needs work but this will come with more stage time and experimentation. I personally felt the all black smart attire took away from the true energy of the bands sound and performance.

Greywind are certainly ones to watch in 2020, with new material on the books it could be big year for them. A possible slot on Ireland’s newest rock festival Sunstroke would be a great opportunity for them to get in front of new eyes and ears.
