EMBRACE are set to stage THE SECRET FESTIVAL for a second year later this summer at an UNDISCLOSED LOCATION NEAR LEEDS on FRIDAY 4 SEPTEMBER and SATURDAY 5 SEPTEMBER.
The band held the festival for the first time last year at KNEBWORTH HOUSE in Hertfordshire, which saw the event being voted BEST NEW FESTIVAL at the UK FESTIVAL AWARDS 2014.
The band came up with the idea of THE SECRET FESTIVAL after years of playing Secret Gigs in weird and wonderful locations such as caves, forests, boats and stately homes. The idea to expand the Secret Gig concept to a festival was one the band had been working on for some years.
EMBRACE front man DANNY MCNAMARA said: “It was always an ambition of ours; we knew the Secret Gig idea was something that our fans loved and we wanted to see if we could bring the excitement and magic of those shows to a festival format. Also a lot of our fans who have grown up with us now have children and we wanted an event that would be a great experience for all ages”.
Guests at THE SECRET FESTIVAL last year included THE MAGIC NUMBERS, DAVE MCCABE of THE ZUTONS, and BEN OTTEWELL from Mercury Music Prize winners GOMEZ, all of whom performed throughout the day prior to EMBRACE.
EMBRACE are keeping tight-lipped about who they have lined up to play THE SECRET FESTIVAL this year but are promising fans that they won’t be disappointed.
Danny teased: “We had a great line-up of friends last year but we think we’ve surpassed ourselves this time. Everyone who played last year said they had such a brilliant time and the atmosphere was unlike any other festival. There was such a friendly vibe to the day; everyone mingles and it’s just like one big family. I can’t wait for this year’s event”.
The exact location of THE SECRET FESTIVAL is revealed to ticket buyers 48 HOURS before the event itself. For further details, including how to buy tickets, visit the festival website at:
