Dave Hause, Gorilla, Manchester

It’s amazing to consider that 2 years ago Dave Hause was the opening act on Chuck Ragan’s 2011 UK Revival Tour.

After gaining minor popularity (in the UK) in Philadelphia punk rock band The Loved Ones, somewhere down the line Hause made the genius move of going solo and after two solid albums, 2011’s ‘Resolutions’ and 2013’s ‘Devour’ he has proved himself as a worthy artist and musician.
I’ve been lucky enough to witness Dave Hause live more than a few times, every time he reeks if passion and love for the music he plays and the fans listening but something about tonight was different.

Maybe it’s because Hause is just cherishing life on the road or maybe it has something to do with this show being his “biggest headline show yet”.
Either way he does not disappoint. Opening song ‘Damascus’ is greeted by rapturous applause as is almost every other song that follows, these fans love Dave Hause.

‘C’mon Kid’ is played eloquently played on the piano and ‘Time Will Tell’ is ferocious as ever, his older songs being surrounded perfectly by newer tracks from ‘Devour’. ‘We Could Be Kings’ is already a Dave Hause anthem and sounds great stripped back played on only a Les Paul.

A great gig, great songs performed brilliantly and a nice bit of banter between Hause and the crowd made tonight a very special and memorable gig.
