The easiest tunes to listen to are those that espouse romantic love leading to marriage and consumerism. Usually backed up by some brainless clockwork rhythm. And just behind all this is the remnants of the Britpop scene, music full of self-indulgence and sorrow. 'Why wont the world do me a big favour' music. Like the Verve, Travis, Beth Orton etc. This has the effect of turning you into a morose thumb sucking moron of no use whatsoever to yourself or anyone else for that matter. When you listen to music, make an effort. Reject the shit, and don't just sit their humming it. Look for music that stimulates you, both through the words that come out and the sounds that are being produced.
