Be a thoroughly selfish bastard and drop all your chains of obligation and guilt. Selfish means doing things purely for yourself. It does not mean disrespecting other people.

Disrespect is when you are doing something to someone that you think is wrong. Being selfish is doing things for yourself. They are totally separate things. You are a person. You have a self. You are perpetually selfish.

So what are people doing when they accuse you of being selfish? Basically they're moaning because you're not behaving in a way that advantages them. Ignore them and concentrate on what you want to do. You will never be able to satisfy people who call you selfish, it is not that they want you to accomplish certain tasks, they instead want to control your mind to advantage themselves.

Accept that you are selfish, embrace yourself, realise that everyone is selfish even when they are doing things for other people, free yourself from everyone's demands and do what you want.
