DIGITAL SELF-RELEASE 27.8.12

This twenty-five minute digital EP is not what you might expect from the name or cover. The duo have all the sensibilities of screamo and other forms of post-rock but have made something more free-form. Substantial passages rely on instrumental atmosphere and no-one screams in your face. A major plus is being able to hear instrumental tonne and the sound of fingers on strings in the quiet passages.

Tracks do the loud / quiet thing but in a more organic form than usual and instead of following the formula laid down by The Pixies and slavishly used by so many, they apparently drift off into deep textures and echoes then find their way back into the louder stuff. The EP as a whole is cohesive and atmospheric, giving a satisfying listen – quite an achievement for this new band.

A refreshing change.
