‘Take It Off’ is the debut EP from aspiring UK punk act You Had Me At Hello. That said, you would be forgiven for not realising they were British upon hearing this. Yep, that’s right folks, we have yet another UK pop punk outfit who have been, shall we say, ‘Americanised’. However, they are actually quite good. I know, I know – I am normally heavily critical of such unoriginality but they guys have got it right. They are polished and tight and are laden with catchy riffs and jaunty little numbers that I enjoyed. Think Taking Back Sunday rather than Blink 182 and you’ll be part way there. Opening Track ‘Diamonds And Pearls’ was my standout track.

These guys would probably be pretty damn good live – their sing along choruses are made for a festival tent. I will definitely be joining the youngsters should You Had Me At Hello make an appearance at any of the festivals I am attending. I will probably have to lurk at the back though – a 31 year old fan is probably not their idea of cool!
