This was rich, dense, carefully constructed and arranged. Warm reds and oranges often washed over the six-piece as the crowd stood in warm admiration, calming down after a roller-coaster day. The arrival of Johnny Marr delayed me wandering off to hear Sleigh Bells. Mr Jangle mixed it up a little before the band returned to the collectivist rotation. This is a band that fails to excite me, probably because their collective, eclectic nature fails to define a core to the band’s journey. Tonight, however, the atmosphere made it a lovely experience.
