Die So Fluid
THE WORLD IS TOO BIG FOR ONE LIFETIME
GLOBAL MUSIC 7.6.10

Loud aggressive music with female vocals can prove a winning combination, you get all the power and attitude but with softer edged vocals, notable exceptions such as Kittie and the truly scary Arch Enemy notwithstanding.

So what does Die So Fluid offer?

Their sound is a very crisp, clinical offering with Grog’s vocals cutting through powerful melodies and you are hard not to make obvious comparisons to the likes of Souxsie Sioux or Skin from Skunk Anansie with the later clearly evident on ‘Storm’.

A comparison to other artists does the band credit but Die So Fluid are no followers of fashion, their sound is as unique as their looks and the album stands tall in the company of its peers.

The album lays its intention down straight away with ‘Figurine’, a fine opening that leaves the listener in no doubt of the bands ability. The music comes thick and fast, ripping through your eardrums, leaving a large indelible imprint on your psyche.

The title track has a real smouldering attitude that builds into a real classic but none of the tracks on ‘The world....’ fail to impress with the exception of the final one which didn’t need to be 22 minutes long.

There’s a dark undertone to Die So Fluid that is matched by their almost hypnotic rhythms to produce a sound that has some real passion albeit wrapped with lyrical barbwire.

The World Is Too Big For One Lifetime is the complete package, there’s no filler evident and each track denotes professionalism derived from some serious effort. My initial perceptions of Die So Fluid has me slightly concerned as to what I might hear but these fears proved unfounded as the band can deliver.

With the attitude, looks and talent that Die So Fluid have, who know where fate will take them but one thing’s for sure, it will be one hell of a ride.
