DIGITAL NIGHTS
AD MUSIC Out Now

There is a belief that if you play iPod roulette, you will come across a rogue/dodgy track on everyone’s Mp3 player within 6 songs played on shuffle. Mine would probably be a Mike Oldfield (I don’t consider 80’s European Metal dodgy?!) and not just Tubular Bells but his more recent Avante Garde releases.

So when ‘Digital Nights’ by RamsayGee `dropped onto my doorstep being described as Electronica I had a point of reference to work from. The main difference between these two modern age instrumentalists is that there is a heavy dose of tribal rhythms within RamsyGee’s music that produces a more upbeat euphoric sound.

The tracks on the album merge on into another, taking the listener on a journey through a modern compositions laced with new age moods and hooks that draws heavily from other influences such as William Orbit or further back into R&B and possibly reggae.

It’s always difficult to pass comment on albums of this nature as the music is almost on a sub conscious level and works best as background to other activities to create a mood or feeling and this album would definitely inspire an uplift in mood and outlook on life.

I doubt if I will return to ‘Digital Nights’ any time soon as my requirements from music are poles apart to the recording but there is hope, on RamsayGee’s website, there is a reference to ‘The Mission’ emphasising my belief that inside every muso there is a Goth trying to get out!
