Guitar wizard, Kaki King, switches from fiddly fretwork to crunchy, drum-driven rock. It’s a deeper guitar sound, still clever, but more akin to the more proggy tones that have been edging their way through the soup of the music world. Breaking surface with a response, Kaki brings a 5 song EP of her trio fuzzing it up, playing feedback and indulging in the effects pedals.

There’s little doubt it is clever stuff and an album would be welcome, as would a tour, since an EP is just long enough but not quite enough. The fifth track, a more electronic piece, leaves as I’m wanting more. Maybe not such a bad idea.
